The University of Memphis owns an extensive catalog of traditional Blues, Jazz and Gospel Compositions that we are interested in licensing for use in film, television, websites, games, greeting cards, commercials or any use that requires the sound of authentic American southern culture , traditional Mississippi Delta Blues or the unique sounds of 1970's Memphis, Tennessee. We also own several Master recordings of those same songs performed by the original artists, that we are interested in distributing in foreign territories.
Our control of both the master and the composition can save your company time and money during the licensing process. Our songs have been featured in several films including "Hustle and Flow", "Black Snake Moan", "Chicago Overcoat" and French films, "I Am Happy That My Mother Is Alive" and "A Prophet", winner of the Grand Prix Award at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and Academy Award Nominee for Best International Film.
